K-12 EC Teacher

Job description:

Thank you for your interest in employment at Jackson Day School! We are seeking a highly qualified and certified teacher who:

  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials providing effective teaching strategies.

  • Maintains effective classroom management, recognizes and addresses learning and behavior issues.

  • Understand developmental appropriateness of materials and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Evaluates accomplishments of students on a regular basis using multiple assessment methods; provides progress and interim reports for feedback.

  • Completes Service Logs to document services that are provided to students and Progress Monitoring data

  • Complete progress reports for the students on caseload at reporting periods

  • Attend EC PLC Meetings to collaborate with other team members to best support students' needs

  • IEP development and implementation:

Facilitating IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop individualized education plans, and monitoring progress to ensure goals are being met.

  • Caseload management:

Managing a caseload of students with special needs, reviewing their individual needs, and assigning appropriate services.

  • Resource allocation:

Identifying and accessing necessary support services like therapy, counseling, or assistive technology for students

  • Advocacy:

Representing the student's needs at school meetings, advocating for necessary accommodations and modifications, and resolving any issues that may arise.

  • Data collection and analysis:

Tracking student progress through data collection, analyzing results, and using information to adjust interventions and IEPs.

  • Communicates with parents in a timely manner; maintains positive and constructive communication with students, staff, parents and community.

  • Protects students, equipment, materials and facilities taking necessary and reasonable precautions.

  • Upholds and enforces board policy, district goals, administrative procedures and school rules and regulations. Adheres to health and safety policies.

  • Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.

  • Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; Attends staff, department, curricular development and committee meetings and staff-development session as required.

  • Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws.

  • Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in areas of the school.
